We are offering an opportunity for staff to contribute to the health and wellbeing of colleagues at SABP by training to become Mental Health First Aiders.

Last Few Places!

Mental Health First Aiders provide support and signposting to colleagues, acting as a point of contact and reassurance for a person who may be experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress. The course will also teach you to listen non-judgementally and to hold supportive conversations.

It is important to note that the training does not teach people to be therapists or counsellors or how to diagnose mental health conditions or provide ongoing support. Please note that the course is aimed at staff who are non-clinicians. The course is virtual, delivered over two full days and is run by SABP staff who have qualified as accredited trainers on the MHFA England training course.

To apply, please discuss with your line manager and complete this Mental Health First Aider Application Form and return to mhfa@sabp.nhs.uk

Please note that you must be available to attend all 2 full day sessions . Cohort 12 Session 1: 09 September 2024 | Session 2: 23 September 2024 All sessions run from 09:00 -16:00 Deadline for application: 23 August 2024 | Places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis More information about the training and the role of a Mental Health First Aider can be found on the MHFA pages of the intranet.
